Beastie is made by 3D Reality Labs. This policy explains what the app and this website collect, what they do not, and why. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Your camera and your video

Video never leaves your device. When you do a set, the camera feed is processed entirely on your phone to work out where your body is. Frames are analysed and immediately discarded. No video, image or frame is uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere — not to us, not to anyone else.

This is how the app is built, not a preference you have to find. The camera is only active while a set is running.

What we do store

• Your sets. Exercise, rep count, clean-rep count, form score, duration and the time you did it. This is what makes streaks, personal bests and duel results work.
• An account identifier. On first launch you get an anonymous account so the app works immediately. If you later sign in — with Apple on iPhone, or with an email link on either platform — that anonymous account is upgraded in place, and your existing history carries over.
• Your handle, if you choose one, so rivals can see who they duelled.
• Basic product events — such as "a set was completed" — into our own database, to understand which parts of the app get used. No third-party analytics SDK is embedded in the app — this website is a separate thing, and it is described below.
• A push notification token, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when a rival takes your challenge or posts their score. It identifies your device to the platform's push service — Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android — and nothing else. Turn notifications off in your phone's settings and it stops being used.

The beta list (closed)

Beastie is now on the App Store and on Google Play, so the signup form this section described has been removed from the website. There is nothing left to join.

While it existed, that form — on this website, never in the app — stored the email address you typed and, if you gave one, a first name, and nothing else: no IP address, no tracking pixel, and no link to the website analytics described below. It was used for exactly one thing, a single message when the app launched. It was never sold, never shared and never added to a marketing list.

As promised when the list was collected, it has served its purpose and is being deleted. If you want your entry removed immediately, or want to confirm it is gone, email 3drealitylabs@gmail.com.

Analytics on this website

Only if you say yes. The bar at the bottom of the page on your first visit is a real switch, not a notice: until you press Yes, that's fine, nothing is sent and no analytics cookie is written. Press No thanks and it stays that way, on this page and every other one. You can change your mind either way from the Cookies link in the footer.

Your answer itself is kept in one small cookie called beastie_analytics, so you are not asked again on every page. It holds the word yes or the word no and nothing else — no identifier, nothing that could be tied back to you — and it is the only thing this site stores if you say no.

What you would be saying yes to: this website — again, not the app — uses Mixpanel to see whether the page is doing its job. Which pages get opened, how far down them people read, what gets clicked and which store button gets pressed. It measures the page. It has nothing to do with your workouts, which happen in the app.

There is no session recording. Screen or session replay was switched off on 4 September 2026 and is not used on this site. What is collected is a count of pages and taps, not a picture of your visit.

While the beta list existed it also recorded that a signup succeeded and nothing more. Your email address and your name were never in that event, and no identifier linked the two — which is what the sentence above about the list not being joined up with analytics protected.

Once you have agreed, it keeps one cookie holding a random id, so that coming back tomorrow is not counted as a new stranger, and Mixpanel sees the IP address your browser connects from, which it turns into a rough country and city. There is no advertising network involved and you are not followed onto other websites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, Mixpanel does not record you whatever you pressed.

None of this is in the app. The app carries no third-party analytics SDK, and this page's analytics cannot see anything you do inside it.

What we never collect

No video or photos. No contacts. No location. No health-app data. No advertising identifier, and no tracking across other apps or websites — Beastie shows no ads and takes part in no ad networks.

Who else sees it

We use Supabase to store your account and set history, and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. This website additionally uses Mixpanel, as described above. They process this data on our behalf and nothing more. If you duel someone, they see your handle and your score for that duel — nothing else.

Your choices

You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app, in Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also revoke camera access at any time in your phone's settings; the counter simply stops working until you grant it again.

Children

Beastie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
